Finally the puyo game of my dreams. Now for those of you only interested in single player or Tetris, the game does allow you to play virtually any way you want. Now with the ps4 version finding online multiplayer is a breeze, even with people out of region. Maybe it’s because the xbox is so unpopular in Japan, but I could never find anyone to play with. Now since I’ve demonstrated my willingness to buy out of region games just to play Puyo I can answer if out of region version multiplayer works online. Maybe previous games in japan have had it, but they never made it across the ocean. Despite the obvious multiplayer appeal this series should have, this is the first game to include online multiplayer for anyone in NA. The game is generally competitive with the success of one side resulting in an avalanche of nuisance blobs for the other. I only play the playstation version now, but I’ll get into that a little later.Puyo is a puzzle game (for those who do not know) where you stack blobs to make combination eliminations of said blobs (four or more connected). Needless to say when it was actually released in NA for ps4 I bought that copy too. Tetris, like all the stupid games it spawned, forces us to choose to punish ourselves.I’ve been a long fan of the Puyo series of games and so when this one came out, I bought a japanese copy for the xbox. Despite its obvious futility, somehow we can’t make ourselves stop rotating blocks. And the game’s final insult is that it annihilates free will.

It is bureaucracy in pure form, busywork with no aim or end, impossible to avoid or escape. but a faceless, ceaseless, reasonless force that threatens constantly to overwhelm you, a churning production of blocks against which your only defense is a repetitive, meaningless sorting. The enemy in Tetris is not some identifiable villain. It is a jigsaw puzzle that must be assembled on deadline, yet never can be. is not a Skinner box of rewards for players but a bleak encounter with futility. > The best-known and best-loved video game. I would love to add multiplayer to in someday.Īlso, if you haven't read the Kotaku review of "Tetris" (the game in general, not any specific release/platform), it is not only profound but hilarious: Man, has any game been implemented more times than Tetris? It was always one of those things I wanted to do and finally got around to hacking together a javascript version of it a few years ago:
